I have always had an interest in art and design and completed a degree in Fine Art at Stourbridge College of Technology and Art in 1984.
I have recently given up my sales and marketing career to study at the Norwich School of Art and Design for an MA in Fine Art.
My work is inspired by the way light and the seasons affect the mood of the East Anglian landscape. In particular, I have always had a fascination for the sea with its continually changing moods, and in my work I aim to evoke the light and space of the coastal landscape to produce an emotive response in the viewer.
For inspiration I draw upon the work of many artists. Principally for landscapes, the paintings of Rothko and the watercolours and unfinished works of Turner, and for portraits the works of Lucian Freud and Jenny Saville.
